Amboseli is about 204 km from Nairobi by road, a 4 to 5 hour drive via Emali, or about 40 to 50 minutes by light aircraft from Wilson Airport. A simple plan is a half-day game drive in Nairobi National Park on your arrival morning, a night in Nairobi, then an early start for Amboseli. Start in Nairobi. A JKIA layover game drive or a morning in the park fits your arrival day. Then travel to the coast by air or on the SGR train from Nairobi Terminus to Mombasa, and book a Fort Jesus and Old Town tour for your first morning there.
