Tips for a family drive
A morning half-day is the easy family shape: you are back before anyone is tired, and the roof is cooler. Hippo Pools is the one short walk, with a ranger. Skip it with a toddler who needs carrying near a river with hippos and crocodiles.
Ask for a child seat in the booking message and we confirm before you pay. Bring snacks you can eat quietly, and take the wrappers out.
Small children who prefer a short visit love the Giraffe Centre platform and the Safari Walk. Do the park in the morning and the Centre after on a full day, or on the weekday 3-in-1 tour.
First time in the park? Read what to expect on a first visit. Not sure whether to book a half or full day? Here is how long a Nairobi National Park safari takes.
More animal guides: zebras, buffalo, hippos, cheetahs, birds and leopards, with where and when each is usually seen.
